Building a wind generator to supplement power generated by solar panels. Finding plans that are easy to read and fully turned out quite a bit harder than I expected. After trying out a bunch of different plans and find them all that garbage, I decided to make his plan to wind generators.
the first thing I decided to do it in their demands for projekt.Prvi step was to figure out how much power I wanted to produce. I kind of went overboard and decided to 1kW wind generator. There is also the possibility of vertical or horizontal axis wind generator (I chose the horizontal, because it's easier ... they are the ones at the top of the tower, which has 3 blades ).
Now, when I had the requirements for my project I had to figure out how to fulfull.Vjetar generator had to be pretty cheap because I did not really have a lot of money at that time. I discovered that you can cut PVC pipe and makes a pretty good blade, so I started on them. They have a couple of hours to build (and balance) and then I paint them coated layer (UV protection for PVC becomes brittle when exposed to sunlight for long periods of time ).
I heard that people in old Ametek motors as generators in wind generators, so I decided to use one as well. I have it mounted on my body (a piece of 2x4), using something called the all-round.Motor still need to be covered for protection from the weather, so I made one cut a PVC pipe and fell over the engine. I broke down and bought the center because it is not that expensive, and I do not know how to balance them.
After connecting the blades and hub assembly all together on the motor shaft, I have almost finished. Everything I needed to finish the tail and add prirubnica.Rep is made of a steel rod from the hardware store, and some plexiglass that I left behind the building of solar ploča.Rep looks pretty neat because it was clear.
The final step was to put the flange on the lower side of the body and attach a steel pipe for him. This will allow me to drop a wind generator at the top of the tower that will allow you to move as well.
I thought that the findings of the tower will be the hardest part of the build, but it was pretty easy. I was there with a friend helping him re-shingle the roof and noticed it still had a TV tower up despite being switched to satellite a few years. He looked pretty strong and it even had a hole in the top that I could use to mount the wind generator. I asked him if I could have and he said: "Yes, I never use the thing over and it's an eyesore." If only you knew how much it is worth to me!
I got a tower house (can be disassembled), and immediately built a concrete foundation and a good rose. After installing the wind generators on top of and praying that it will work I hooked up the charge controller only to find that I am a big fan.
That's when I learned that you need to hook diode inline with the wires coming from wind power generator so that they can move in one direction. After fixing that little bug of course it is not windy for a couple of days. We were out getting groceries, and although the wind had kicked up, so I hurried home to see if the wind generator spinning.
I could not believe it! I got home and it was sitting on top the tower spinning away happily producing energy for home.
